The Lay of the Land | Deuteronomy 29 : 29
In this sermon, you’ll hear how God promised to raise up a prophet like Moses to speak His Word to His people. Using Deuteronomy 18:15–19, this message shows how the prophets of Israel pointed forward to Jesus, the ultimate Prophet and Mediator who reveals God and brings salvation to His people. In this message: • Why Israel needed a prophet to speak God’s Word • The difference between God’s revelation and false sources of spiritual guidance • How the prophets served as God’s representatives to His people • Why Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promise in Deuteronomy 18 • How Jesus serves as both Prophet and Mediator for believers Scripture: Deuteronomy 18:15–19 Key takeaway: • God fulfilled His promise by sending Jesus, the Prophet greater than Moses, to reveal His Word and accomplish salvation. • Jesus is the Mediator who lived, died, and rose again so that all who trust in Him can be reconciled to God.
A Prophet Like Moses | Deuteronomy 18 : 15 – 19
Hope in hard times does not come from having every answer. In Job 19:23-27, Job suffers deeply, faces accusation, and still looks to God as his living Redeemer who will vindicate him and make all things right. In this message: • Job’s suffering shows the weight of loss, pain, and accusation. • Job’s confidence rests in God’s character, not his circumstances. • The Redeemer Job hoped for points us to Jesus. • Jesus defends believers from true guilt through his death and resurrection. • The church can hold fast to hope because one day believers will see Christ face to face.
